Cotton vs Nylon Compression Socks: Read the Whole Blend
Compare complete sock labels rather than assuming cotton or nylon alone determines comfort. Hold pressure, coverage and size constant first, then consider the fabric blend and the care routine you can follow.
- 01Compare equal pressure and coverage.
- 02Read all fiber percentages.
- 03Keep your washing routine in the choice.

Compare the construction
| Choice | What changes your decision |
|---|---|
| Cotton-labeled option | Read the cotton percentage, stretch fibers and stated pressure on the exact product. |
| Nylon/polyamide-labeled option | Check the entire blend rather than assuming a pure nylon construction. |
| Compression Max | 50% polyamide, 30% polyester and 20% spandex; not a cotton sock. |
Choose by the detail that matters
A cotton-rich knee-high garment at one pressure is not a useful material-only comparison with a different-length nylon blend at another pressure.
Narrow the shortlist to the coverage and pressure that are appropriate for you, then read the fit chart and fiber percentages.
If cotton against the skin is a must-have preference, Compression Max is not a cotton substitute.
If you are considering a polyamide/polyester/spandex blend, its actual label and cold-wash/air-dry care instructions provide a specific option to compare.
There is no breathability, temperature or durability ranking without a controlled test.
When to keep another option
Fiber name is not evidence of equivalent pressure or medical suitability. No unverified cotton product, absorption result or comparative laboratory claim is supplied.
