The deciding step is fitting the replacement inside your actual footwear: a matching boot brand does not, by itself, confirm enough depth or the right arch position.
- 01Identify the standard footbed separately from ventilated and ESD versions.
- 02Check the room above your instep with normal work socks.
- 03Choose firmer support only when the complete boot fit works.

Start with the feature you want to retain
If your existing footbed works well except for wear, record its model before ordering a replacement. Timberland's standard Anti-Fatigue Technology Footbed is one specific construction.
Its foam geometry and top layer may be why it is on your shortlist. If you instead want a different support feel, compare that requirement with VALSOLE Heavy Duty.
Keep cushioning preference separate from shoe fit: a footbed can sound suitable on paper yet occupy too much room in the boot you already own.
Check space above the foot as well as underneath
With the boot manufacturer's replacement guidance in mind, inspect whether the original liner can be removed. Fit the replacement so the heel sits properly and the base lies flat.
Wear your normal socks, close the boot as usual and notice the space over the instep and above the toes. If you have to leave the boot unusually loose to make room, revisit the insert choice.
The full boot-and-insole combination matters more than the replacement's length alone, especially in an already close-fitting work shoe.
Do not mix the different Timberland PRO footbeds
This comparison covers TB091621827. Timberland also lists ventilated, ESD and other footbed variants; those names describe separate products, not extra features automatically included here.
If your work requires a particular protective or electrical rating, check the footwear maker's replacement guidance before changing the setup. For ordinary fit comparisons, use each insole's own size information and evaluate arch contact rather than transferring a size from memory.
Explore Heavy Duty if firmer support is the change you want and the complete fit remains comfortable.
Before you choose
Will either insole fit every Timberland work boot?
That has not been established. Confirm the boot's liner arrangement, available depth and any replacement instructions, then select the insole size using its own guidance.
Is the standard Anti-Fatigue Footbed the ESD version?
No. This guide identifies TB091621827. An ESD footbed is a separate product; do not assume electrical or workplace specifications transfer between models.
Should I choose Heavy Duty solely because my old insole feels flat?
First decide whether you want to restore the previous feel or try firmer support. Then check Heavy Duty's shape and available boot space as a complete combination.
